Gannon keeping his players grounded

Sun 24 Feb, 06:15 PM

Stockport manager Jim Gannon refused to get carried away despite his side cementing their place in the play-off spots with a win at Accrington.Striker Liam Dickinson scored twice and County even had the luxury of having a Michael Rose penalty saved by Kenny Arthur as they made it six away wins on the trot.

"We are conscious of the position we are in but we will take nothing for granted," said Gannon.

"Last season we had nine games and nine clean sheets and missed out but I think this season's run is even more impressive. It is the sixth away win on the run and one defeat in 10.

"I think I have the healthiest squad this season, the team is stronger and we are mentally stronger.

"The players are all really looking forward to the last 13 games but there is a lot of work to be done."
