Huddersfield manager Andy Ritchie insisted Gillingham goal hero Adam Miller was lucky to be on the pitch to take his 88th-minute penalty.Miller, signed from Stevenage just before Christmas, slotted home the only goal of the game after Delroy Facey had been fouled by Nathan Clarke.
But Ritchie is adamant Miller should have seen red after the midfielder appeared to catch Clarke with a late challenge early in the second half.
"The lad who took the penalty shouldn't have been on the pitch. He should have been sent off earlier for the reckless tackle right at the side of the dug-out," said Ritchie. "Correct me if I'm wrong but it was a sending off offence. Nathan Clarke has got stud marks down his chest.
"I'm very disappointed with the referee (Steve Cook), especially in the second half. He gave them absolutely every decision going. Having said that, we thought we had worked hard enough to maybe gain a point.
"I won't give the players any stick for their effort because I thought it was fantastic but we have got to put chances away."
