Slade laments goal-shy Glovers

Sun 24 Feb, 04:31 PM

Yeovil manager Russell Slade was left to rue his side's missed opportunities as they crashed to a 3-0 defeat at home to Southend.Steve Tilson's side are now just outside the League One play-off places while Yeovil are looking nervously over their shoulders at the relegation zone.

The Somerset side are playing without confidence and have now won only one match in 11 since the turn of the year.

"Obviously we are bitterly disappointed," said Slade. "We had one or two chances early on, Andy Kirk went close for us and so did Terry Skiverton with a header but we just can't get a goal.

"Southend's first two goals came from bad decisions by the referee. Things aren't going right for us in either box. We can't buy a goal at the moment."
