Valencia were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Recreativo Huelva on Saturday night.
Ronald Koeman's side dominated for long periods and took the lead through Juan Manuel Mata late in the first half.
But Carlos Martins equalised for Recreativo early in the second period and the visitors soaked up the Valencia pressure in the closing stages to hang on for a valuable point.
