Barcelona duo Carles Puyol and Andres Iniesta reckon there are valuable lessons to be learned from Spain's friendly against Italy. The pair have both been named in Luis Aragones' 21-man party to face Roberto Donadoni's world champions in Elche on Wednesday and Barca captain Puyol plans to enjoy the occasion.
"I am looking forward to it. I want to enjoy it because I think it will be a very attractive match. They are the world champions, so I hope it's a good game and that the people enjoy it," Puyol said.
The defender, who last year became the most capped Catalan player in the history of the Spanish national side, also believes the game in Elche will be a useful outing for Aragones' side in the build-up to this summer's European Championships.
"The Euros are always different. This is a friendly match, but I believe all of these games are important. We are up against one of the best international teams in the world. They have great players and it will be a good test for us," he said.
Iniesta also anticipates a mouth-watering clash against Italy.
"It's a difficult match against a very good side and it should be a great game. Italy are always a very important national team, so it will be a good opportunity for us to test ourselves against them," he added.
