Notts County made it four points from the Easter programme to ease their League Two relegation fears with a 0-0 draw at Shrewsbury on Monday.County twice went close in the first half at the New Meadow as Richard Butcher lobbed just wide of an empty net from 40 yards after Glyn Garner's poor clearance, before the Town goalkeeper superbly palmed Gary Silk's volley over the crossbar.
The home side improved in the second half and County's goal led a charmed life.
Russell Hoult's legs stopped James Constable's drive, Ben Davies saw his goalbound shot strike team-mate Dave Hibbert and Adam Tann cleared a Davies shot off the line.
In injury time, Hoult tipped over a shot from Steve Leslie that was heading for the top corner.
