Striker Jay Simpson had a day to forget as Millwall gifted Luton their first away point of 2008 in a dire 0-0 draw at the New Den.The 19-year-old Arsenal loanee has scored only five times since arriving in September and continued to blow hot and cold, spooning a flurry of second-half efforts.
Former Luton midfielder Ahmet Brkovic nearly came back to haunt his old club late on, hitting the crossbar, only for Simpson to smash over the rebound as Millwall's winless run in League One was extended to three games.
On-loan Reading midfielder Jem Karacan came close for the home side early on, combining with Simpson before curling straight at Hatters goalkeeper Dean Brill.
However, Luton should have stormed ahead before the break when defender Keith Keane found Don Hutchison but the former Millwall man volleyed at Rhys Evans.
