Fakenham To Look Again

Mon 24 Mar, 08:09 AM

This afternoon's meeting at Fakenham is subject to the course passing a second inspection at 0900 GMT ahead of racing.

Clerk of the course David Hunter took an initial look at 0700 but was forced to check the situation later after the course endured a wintry night.

Hunter said: "We're having a second inspection at nine o'clock because we have two to two-and-a-half centimetres of snow on the ground.

"We had minus three degrees of frost last night but the temperature is now hovering around zero. It should get up to a maximum of about plus five today, but we need to see what is happening at nine.

"There is no frost in the ground whatsoever. it's just a case of seeing how the level of snow, which has an icy look to it, is panning out."
