Coach Peter Sharp has warned critics to write Hull off "at their peril" after his side were comprehensively beaten 30-4 by Leeds at the KC Stadium.
Hull had no answer to the league leaders' movement and strength in what proved to be a showcase for Leeds' ability.
The Black and Whites lie second from bottom in the table with eight players out through injury but Sharp is refusing to buckle under mounting pressure from the club's fans.
"Leeds were bigger, stronger, faster and better than us," Sharp said.
"That probably summed it up. I don't pay too much attention to what the fans say, they can say what they like and with some entitlement.
"We tried hard but weren't at the races against that team today and I didn't think we ever would we as I was driving in today.
"I was very worried about that today. We're busted all over the place. We're just trying to hang in there. I'm concerned because we're not winning, but I'm not too concerned because when we get some time on the park we'll be a very good side.
"Anyone who writes us off at this stage will do so at their own peril. You get an over-reaction round here, let's see what we're like at the end of the year before people start jumping up and down."
With Paul King and Danny Houghton dropping out of Sharp's squad on the eve of the game, he was able to welcome Richard Horne back into the side after missing the first seven games of the season with a foot injury.
But the Australian admitted that he needs other players besides Horne to be fit before his side can fire.
"We have to hang in there and get some troops back to get some time on the park," Sharp added.
"We have too many kids out there together. Everything is compounding against us. Coming off the derby defeat on Friday it was demanding emotionally and physically.
"Then to play against Leeds who are without a shadow of a doubt the best team in the world at the moment is some ask.
"We need people back. Willie Manu and Ewan Dowes might be back next weekend which is good. Willie will give us a bit of grunt up front, as will Gareth Carvell when he's back.
"I have no doubt that with people back, we'll be okay."
Brian McClennan thinks Leeds side can get even better after another masterclass saw them confirm their standing as the team to beat this season.
The reigning champions ran in five tries and only Raynor's late score prevented them from going three games without having their try line breached.
"I think it was a really good defensive effort and it was a nice try by Hull," McClennan said.
"Raynor is pretty quick and grubbers down the blind side can be hard to defend.
"We're defending really well but we're dropping a bit too much ball to be playing at our best. We did it today and did it against Bradford.
"I think we could be in better form, I don't think we're playing our best football. We can improve as can all teams.
"We have a huge challenge coming up against St Helens on Friday. That's a big match for us."
McClennan welcomed back Ryan Bailey and Danny McGuire into his side after spells out through injury.
And the former New Zealand coach confessed to being pleased with the state of his squad following a gruelling Easter period.
"We've been pretty fortunate with our players health this season and we're happy and healthy," he said.
"It's difficult to get continuity if you have players out and we wish Hull well and hope they can get some troops back and get some form like everybody knows they can."
