Rangers trio Barry Ferguson, Lee McCulloch and Christian Dailly have withdrawn from the Scotland squad for Wednesday's friendly against Croatia.

Captain Ferguson has been suffering with an ankle complaint for several weeks and only played in Rangers' win over Hibernian at the weekend with the aid of a pain killing injection.

Having already seen a specialist in England last week, Ferguson has now decided to withdraw from the squad as George Burley prepares to take his bow as Scotland manager in the game at Hampden.

McCulloch joins him on the sidelines after a thigh injury flared up following the weekend action and an X-ray has revealed Dailly has a broken toe.

Despite their knocks, the club claim that all three will be fit for next weekend's Old Firm derby with Celtic.
