It's time for our weekly whistle-stop tour of planet football - look away fans of Salzburg and Giovanni Trapattoni.
AUSTRIA
The race for the Austrian league title was thrown dramatically open on Sunday when Salzburg were thrashed 7-0 at home by Rapid Vienna, who took over at the top of the standings.
It was the biggest defeat for Austria's richest side since the club's takeover in 2005 by soft drink billionaire Dietrich Mateschitz and the worst ever for experienced Italian coach Giovanni Trapattoni (pictured).
"It was not a defeat, it was a catastrophe," said the former Juventus, Bayern Munich and Italy coach, who is due to take over as Ireland manager in May.
"I have never let in seven goals in 40 years as a professional -- neither as a player nor a trainer, Trapattoni said.
After becoming only the second team to win at Salzburg this season, Rapid now lead the standings by a single point from Salzburg with five matches remaining.
Rapid's victory has ensured that three teams are still in with a realistic chance of clinching the championship, with Linz a point behind Salzburg.
PORTUGAL
Vitoria Setubal lifted the inaugural Portuguese League Cup by beating Sporting 3-2 on penalties after a goalless draw in Saturday's final.
Setubal goalkeeper Eduardo Carvalho was the hero in the shootout with three saves when the match went straight to penalties after 90 minutes at the Algarve stadium.
In-form Setubal, unbeaten in four matches with Sporting this season, had come closest to a winner when Brazilian striker Claudio Pitbull's free-kick hit the post after 50 minutes.
NETHERLANDS
Danny Koevermans struck twice to earn Dutch league leaders PSV Eindhoven a comfortable 3-0 home victory against Groningen on Saturday to keep the champions firmly on course for their fourth consecutive title.
PSV have 64 points with four matches remaining, second-placed Ajax are seven points adrift after a 2-1 defeat at Twente Enschede in which with Eljero Elia scored the winner with a lob two minutes into injury time.
Heerenveen staged a remarkable second-half comeback to beat Roda JC Kerkrade 4-3 after trailing 3-1 at halftime and climb to third on goal difference from Feyenoord, who lost the Rotterdam derby 3-2 at Sparta.
GREECE
Defending champions Olympiakos Piraeus opened up a four-point gap at the top of the Greek championship with a 3-1 win away at struggling Levadiakos on Sunday.
After second-placed Panathinaikos had been held to a 1-1 draw by Iraklis on Saturday, Olympiakos came back from a goal down to post what was ultimately a convincing win.
Olympiakos went behind in the seventh minute when Patrick Dimbala gave Levadiakos a surprise lead.
Luciano Galletti levelled after 19 minutes, Fernando Belluschi put them ahead in the 31st and Darko Kovacevic secured the points four minutes later.
The win means that with four rounds remaining Olympiakos, who are seeking their 11th league title in 12 years, now have 61 points.
AEK Athens, who beat Apollon Kalamarias 1-0 thanks to a 56th minute goal from Edinho, remain third on 56 points.
Fourth-placed Aris Salonika conceded a late goal to give Larissa a share of the points in a 1-1 draw in Thessaloniki.
Tony Calvo put Aris ahead in the 56th minute with a long-range shot that bobbled in front of the goalkeeper who could only deflect it into the net.
Larissa got a deserved equaliser, however, seven minutes from time when Facundo Parra volleyed in from close range.
Panionios, meanwhile, improved their chances of playing European football next season with a 4-1 win over Asteras Tripolis which leapfrogged their opponents into fifth place.
OFI Crete eased their relegation fears with a 2-0 win over Xanthi.
CROATIA
Champions Dinamo Zagreb strolled to a 5-1 home rout of Sibenik after the die-hard section of their fans left the ground over a banner they had been forbidden by police to display.
It referred to the death of a supporter in a recent non-football related incident. Only 100 spectators saw the team's best performance since the winter break ended last month.
Sought-after Croatia midfielder Luka Modric scored two goals while Bosko Balaban, Josip Tadic and Dino Drpic added one apiece to keep Dinamo 19 points clear at the top.
Dinamo's traditional rivals Hajduk Split stayed second after a Florin Cernat brace led the way in a 7-2 home drubbing of second bottom Inter Zapresic.
UKRAINE
Champions Dynamo Kiev beat Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih 3-0 at home to go top, a point ahead of traditional rivals Shakhtar Donetsk, who slipped to second after a 3-2 defeat at Tavriya Symferopol.
Shakhtar, who have a game in hand over Dynamo, were undone by a Volodymyr Homeniuk brace and had Brazilian Fernandinho sent off late on after he had pulled the score back to 3-2.
Uzbek striker Maksim Shatskikh sent Dynamo on their way with two first-half goals before Guinea international Ismael Bangoura rounded off the win.
RUSSIA
Amkar Perm won 1-0 at Spartak Nalchik and Rubin Kazan beat Luch Energiya Vladivostok at home by the same score to go top as the only teams with two wins out of two.

HUNGARY
Leaders MTK Budapest pulled four points clear of champions Debrecen after beating them 2-0 away thanks to late goals from striker Andras Pal and defender Zoltan Pollak.
Ujpest edged Honved Budapest 1-0 thanks to a 90th-minute winner by Tibor Tisza and leapfrogged them into third position on goal difference. Both teams are level on points with Debrecen.
ROMANIA
Leaders CFR Cluj suffered a 1-0 defeat at Politehnica Iasi in an ill-tempered affair that saw scorer Andrei Cristea, plus Cluj's skipper Eugen Trica and coach Ioan Andone sent off for dissent in the second half.
Second-placed Steaua Bucharest, who have played a game less, cut Cluj's lead to six points after coming from behind to beat UT Arad 2-1 at home with an injury time winner from Valentin Badea.
SERBIA
Macedonia striker Dragan Cadikovski struck twice in the opening 20 minutes to give leaders Partizan Belgrade a 2-0 home win over basement team Bezanija and take his tally to four goals in two matches.
The result left Partizan five points ahead of champions and city rivals Red Star, who laboured to a 1-0 win at struggling Napredak Krusevac.
AFRICA
Former winners Enyimba of Nigeria and Egyptian giants Zamalek both scored comfortable wins in their African Champions League second-round, first-leg ties on Sunday.
But three other former champions suffered surprise setbacks and were left with a difficult task in their return legs next month.
Tunisia's Club Africain lost 2-0 in Togo against ASKO Kara while TP Mazembe Engelbert of the Democratic Republic of Congo were held at home to a 1-1 draw by FC105 Libreville.
ASEC Abidjan of the Ivory Coast also drew 1-1 draw at home with Guinea champions AS Kaloum, conceding a late equaliser.
Egypt international Amr Zaki scored the opening goal for five-time winners Zamalek as they overcame Africa Sports of the Ivory Coast 2-0 in Cairo. Mohamed Abouela added the second goal.
Stephen Worgu netted a hat-trick as Enyimba eased past Simba SC of Tanzania 4-0 in Aba, adding to four goals he scored in the first round. Kalu Uche added a late penalty.
There was also a hat-trick for Fankele Traore as Cameroon's Coton Sport went one better with a 5-0 win over Gombe United of Nigeria in Garoua.
Edward Sadomba scored all three for Dynamos of Zimbabwe as they beat Mozambique's Costa do Sol 3-0 in Harare.
BRAZIL
Eighteen-year-old striker Dentinho scored his sixth goal of the tournament to give Corinthians a 1-0 win over Rio Claro in the Paulista championship on Sunday.
Dentinho latched on to a long ball and took advantage of slack defending to score in the 31st minute, then followed up the goal with a bunny-hopping celebration.
The win kept Corinthians fourth in the Paulista, the largest of the regional tournaments which kick off the Brazilian season.
Vanderlei Luxemburgo's Palmeiras won their sixth straight game in all competitions when they beat Paulista 2-0 away.
Alex Mineiro and flamboyant Chilean midfielder Jorge Valdivia scored in the first 18 minutes as Palmeiras climbed to second with 31 points from 16 games.
Santos and Sao Paulo both scrambled 1-0 wins.
Midfielder Marcinho Guerreiro scored an 85th-minute winner as Santos, beaten 2-1 by Bolivia's San Jose in the Libertadores Cup on Wednesday, beat leaders Guaratingueta. Santos are seventh.
Sao Paulo, missing suspended striker Adriano, beat Guarani with a second-half strike from substitute Borges to go fifth, one point behind Corinthians. The top four teams qualify for the semi-finals.
In Rio de Janeiro, Botafogo's Wellington Paulista scored four goals, including a hat-trick in the first 22 minutes, in a 7-0 win over Macae.
ARGENTINA
Strikers Alexis Sanchez and Radamel Falcao Garcia struck early to give River Plate a 2-0 win at Velez Sarsfield which knocked their opponents off the top of the Argentine championship on Sunday.
Chilean forward Sanchez, 19, rifled in the first with an angled shot from the edge of the penalty in the eighth minute.
His Colombian striking partner added the second two minutes later with a deft finish after being set up by Matias Abelairas.
Sanchez, on loan from Udinese, and Falcao have been criticised for being too individualistic but coach Diego Simeone was happy with both.
"The players responded as a team and that is what makes me the most happy," the former Argentina captain said.
Velez, who began the weekend top of the Clausura championship with 13 points, never recovered from the setback and had defender Pablo Lima sent off in the 81st minute for a second bookable offence.
River joined Boca Juniors at the top of the table on 15 points from seven games.
Boca, who lead on goal difference, overcame the absence of the injured Juan Roman Riquelme to beat Colon 2-1 and bounce back from Thursday's 2-0 defeat by Colo Colo in the Libertadores Cup.
Jesus Datolo opened the scoring in the sixth minute, snapping up the rebound after his first effort was blocked.
Midfielder Leandro Gracian made it 2-0 six minutes before half-time.
Colon had defender German Rivarola sent off in the 82nd minute for a second bookable offence but pulled one back when Venezuelan Cesar Gonzalez scored with a stoppage-time header.
Riquelme is expected to be sidelined for one month after pulling a thigh muscle against the Chilean champions.
Estudiantes and Velez are two points behind the leading pair and each have a game in hand.
Estudiantes's match at Racing Club on Saturday was called off in the 77th minute when home fans rioted after their team had three players sent off and a goal disallowed in a six-minute spell.
