Fairclough backs Bees challenge

Thu 24 Apr, 03:45 PM

Barnet manager Paul Fairclough believes his side will flourish next season as his young players gain valuable league experience. The Bees are set for a comfortable mid-table finish in League Two and Fairclough thinks the experience of this season will stand them in good stead for a charge towards promotion in the next campaign.

He said: "This team has come a long way and could have a really good future.

"It has been a first season of league football for so many; Neal Bishop, Albert Adomah, Anthony Thomas, Max Porter, Ashley Carew, Danny Hart, Kenny Gillet, Kieron St Aimie, Josh Wright and Cliff Akurang.

"It is amazing when we talk about the likes of Ismail Yakubu, Joe Devera, Adam Birchall, Jason Puncheon and Rob Beckwith who are still so young yet players of experience for us.

"For me the season has been one of inconsistency and I will put that down to the inexperience of the squad. That will not be the case next season."
