A High Court decision has given Grimsby's plans to move to a new purpose-built stadium a major boost.Developers Henry Boot had attempted to force a judicial review of the Mariners' plans to build a new ground outside the town centre, causing lengthy delays, but the scheme is now back on track.
Grimsby chairman John Fenty said: "It came as a major blow to the club when Henry Boot sought to judicially review the decision of the council to grant our planning permission.
"Fortunately their application to the High Court was rejected.
"We would ask our loyal supporters to be patient with us, but we do now have a solid position with a consented scheme, free of any legal challenges, which will enable us to go forward.
"These delays have been unfortunate and costly. We really hope everyone will now get firmly behind the football club's relocation proposals."
