Pilkington back in full training

Thu 24 Apr, 01:15 PM

Notts County goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington has resumed full training with the Magpies just two months after suffering a fractured leg.The 34-year-old sustained the injury in a training ground accident on February 22, a day before County's home game against Bradford.

Pilkington's target was always to be back in first-team contention for the club's final two matches of the season.

With Wycombe at home on Saturday and Chesterfield away on the final day of the season, the former Manchester United trainee hopes to play some part in County's relegation battle.

"It was great to return to training. I always aimed for getting back within eight weeks, so I am pleased on that scale of things," Pilkington told the club's official website.

"Obviously it is about regaining a little match sharpness now and working hard in training between now and the end of the season, and if I am called upon there is no question I would give it my all."
