Stags contract talks on hold

Thu 24 Apr, 04:00 PM

Mansfield manager Paul Holland will not be making any decisions on player contracts until the club know their relegation fate. The Stags are second bottom of League Two and one point adrift of safety with two matches remaining.

Although he admits to speaking to chief executive Stephen Booth about starting contract talks with players, Holland insists those negotiations are now on hold until the end of the season.

"Decisions on contracts won't be made until we know what division we are in next season," said Holland.

"The players understand that. I have a good idea who I want to keep, but we are still in trouble and that is the main concern."
