World number three Novak Djokovic dominated fellow 20-year-old Andy Murray 6-0 6-4 to ease into the quarter-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters.
The Australian Open champion will next face Sam Querrey in the last eight after crushing the British number one in one hour and 18 minutes.
The 20-year-old American Querrey advanced after recovering from a set down to beat French number one Richard Gasquet 2-6 6-4 6-3.
Djokovic looked imposing from the outset, rushing through an easy opening service game before applying tremendous pressure to Murray's serve in a marathon second game.
Murray saved many break points in the second, but missed repeated chances to clinch the hold and allowed Djokovic to see deuce seven times before handing him the early edge with an unforced error.
The Scot, ranked 20th in the world, seemed completely deflated throughout the rest of the opening set as Djokovic easily completed the bagel in 35 minutes.
After the Serbian claimed another easy service hold in the opening game of the second set, Murray finally discovered a bit of fight to rush through a love-service game and break the third seed to 15 on his very next chance.
Djokovic broke right back, however, before saving two break points and pulling through a nervy hold to deuce in his very next game to halt the Briton's momentum dead in its tracks.
Murray, under the guidance of new coach and former French Open champion Alex Corretja, continued to attempt to employ a more aggressive game on his least favourite surface, but to no avail.
At 3-2 down he saved three break points before holding a very nervous service game, but he was never a threat to Djokovic again.
The Serbian closed out his fourth victory over Murray with a break to love as the Briton ended by firing his fourth and fifth double faults of the match in succession.
