Plymouth Argyle boss Paul Sturrock will attend a board meeting to discuss the future of several out-of-contract players.
The Pilgrims host Blackpool on Saturday before travelling to play-off chasing Wolves on the last day of the season as Sturrock's first season back at the Home Park helm draws to a close.
And, despite being within one place of their highest Championship finish, Sturrock is determined to ensure his squad will be capable of mounting a promotion charge next season and insists he will not hesitate in wielding the axe.
"It's going to be a difficult week. There are going to be a lot of players being told their destiny," Sturrock said.
"I have the board meeting on Thursday but would like to think I have told everybody their fate before kick-off on Saturday."
