Celtic's Poland international goalkeeper Artur Boruc said that he believes his country can win Euro 2008.

The Poles impressed in qualifying, winning group A ahead of Portugal, Serbia, Finland and Belgium.

And Boruc thinks they can continue the form into the June finals in Austria and Switzerland.

"Every player in our 23-man squad should go to the Euros thinking about the gold medal," he told Polish newspaper Przeglad Sportowy. "I do not want only the qualification for the tournament to be regarded as our biggest success.

"I would like to achieve more with Poland in Euro 2008 than I did with Celtic in the Champions League and I am sure that our coach Leo Beenhakker will motivate us in the appropriate way."

Boruc also commented on Legia Warsaw`s Brazilian midfielder Roger Guerreiro, who personally received a Polish passport from president Lech Kaczynski recently and is expected to represent his new country at the championships.

"I will welcome Roger in the Poland squad," Boruc stated.

"If he is a person who will help our team it does not matter whether his name is Roger Guerreiro or Mateusz Przewisnik.

"The most important thing is the team. We are going to Austria and Switzerland to finally win something."
