Alexander Hleb's season is over after the Arsenal midfielder admitted a Football Association charge of violent conduct.
The Belarusian's admission of guilt following an incident involving Reading defender Graeme Murty last weekend means he will now serve a three-match ban.
And with just three games remaining for the Gunners - against Derby, Everton and Sunderland - Hleb will not play again this season.
The 26-year-old was caught on television cameras delivering a slap to Murty's face just before the hour mark of the Gunners' 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium.
A statement on the FA's official website read: "The incident was not seen by referee Peter Walton.
"Having now watched video footage of the incident, Walton has informed the FA that, had he seen it at the time, he would have shown Hleb a red card for violent conduct."
