Striker Nathan Tyson believes Nottingham Forest can follow the likes of Reading and Bristol City and cause a "surprise" in the Championship.Forest clinched a return to the second tier of English football, after a three-year absence, by finishing second in League One this term.
With Bristol City having reached the play-off final in their first campaign in the Championship, Tyson sees no reason why Forest cannot emulate that feat.
Tyson told the Evening Post: "The players here are capable of making the step-up, that is for certain. Perhaps we can take a few people by surprise. Reading have done it in the past and Bristol City have done it as well this season.
"We are not there to make up the numbers. We are there on merit and, while we made it hard for ourselves, we got there in the end.
"The goal for next season is promotion. We have to keep our feet on the ground and some people might have us down as the favourites to be relegated, I don't know. But we will take things slowly and we will see where that takes us. That is as much as we can do."
