Brazilian overcomes dislike of circuit to go fastest in qualifying.

Against all expectations, Ferrari will start the Monaco Grand Prix from the front row of the grid after Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen kept pre-race favourites Mclaren at bay.

Despite professing not to like the Principality, Massa pulled out the quickest lap of the top ten shoot-out with just seconds on the clock, pushing himself ahead of team-mate Raikkonen with a 1min 15.787secs effort, while Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen were pushed back to third and fourth respectively.

Hamilton appeared to have done enough to earn a front row spot with his final lap, but the top three ended up covered by just 0.052secs, with Kovalainen a further couple of tenths back.

Robert Kubica took fifth with the final lap of the session, putting his BMW Sauber ahead of Nico Rosberg, Fernando Alonso, Jarno Trulli, and Mark Webber, while David Coulthard sat out the session after his Q2 shunt.
