If Carlo Ancelotti takes the Chelsea job as expected, he could be bringing David Beckham with him.
That's the news according to the Sunday Mirror anyway, who reckon that Becks will be rocking up at Stamford Bridge if the Italian boss has his way.
Ancelotti is widely expected to announce his Milan departure tomorrow.
The former England captain may be 34, but his age shouldn't be an issue considering the number of over-30s already at the Bridge.
A senior Milan source said: "The first thing Carlo will do is try to negotiate a deal to take Beckham with him. There has been a lot of talk about various players, including Kaka, following him to Chelsea, but he is confident he can sort out a deal to take Beckham on loan from LA Galaxy."
Meanwhile, the News of the World reckon that Chelsea will shell out a monster £50 million for Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero who, despite the general consensus that his third season in La Liga has been a bit disappointing, has still scored 15 league goals.
Another man on the Blues' radar is Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko , whose impressive 25-goal haul helped the Wolves to the Bundesliga title.
A 'well-placed source' at Manchester City has told The Observer that the game's megastars are unwilling to come to Eastlands because of Mark Hughes.
The source said: "The main thing is that big players want to go to play with a proven coach. The owners want Mark Hughes to stay... but it's not the same with players - you have to convince them. It's difficult."
Whether or not that deters Emmanuel Adebayor from moving up north - the Citizens are believed to be the only side willing to match Arsenal's £21m valuation for the Togolese striker - remains to be seen.
City are also said to be mulling over signing Lyon captain Juninho . The Brazilian dubbed 'Monsieur 50/50' for his phenomenal free-kick strike rate has admitted that he may leave the French giants in the summer, with Real Madrid and Juventus also interested in the 35-year-old.
Another midfielder who could be headed to Eastlands is Gareth Barry. The People reckon the oil-rich club will try and outbid Liverpool and Milan for the Villa and England man.
So City may well have make do with just buying Portsmouth right-back Glen Johnson, if they can present themselves as a more attractive destination than Liverpool or Tottenham .
Arsene Wenger has hinted Thierry Henry could return to Arsenal - as a coach. "Is there ever a chance Thierry will come back? Of course. This club always wants players of his quality to come back. It will be difficult for him to come back as a player because in 2010 he will be 33."
Meanwhile, Juventus want Wenger to replace Claudio Ranieri as their manager, but the Gunners boss isn't interested.
Elsewhere, Fulham have turned down the option to sign Giles Barnes permanently after the midfielder's injury-plagued loan spell, Everton have given up on signing Michael Owen and Luis Figo could go to China if offers from America, Japan or Middle East fail to materialise.

Beckham is to old for the prem now
he could play for Wolves but they have only just got to the prem besides he is happy in Italy.
Luis Figo will join a french team and Owen will play for Watford.
PS. Rickie Lambert is better than Owen.
Liverpool wont get Barry but will get Johnson.
Adebayor to go to Manchester.City
we dont want beckham, he would take all the free kicks .plus the corners we dont want him.
no one likes chelsea anyway so who cares
aguero and dzeko would be great signings and a perfect partnership.
Beckham no way but bring in kaka and co that may work but what ever happens chelsea really need to get there heads together and deliver a complete re-think to the structure and the motivation of the 2009-2010 sqaud dont bring in players like deco who has faded into the background we need young fresh motivated hungry young players who put the game before there egoes and of course the money they are out there waiting come on chelsea thats make the next season out greatest and knock man united of the pedastal.
ancelotti??? The person who manage AC-milan. Oh my god, I don't think he is a good manager. At least his Ac-milan is really damn recently. Chelsea please don't bring him.

total rubbish beckham is over the hill plus he is older then anything wev'e got hiddink has said the age limit has to be brought down a peg so where does beckham fit into this ancelotti does not want the post he ain't got the bottle to take this job on so give it to rijkaard and carry on the dutch way of thinking
CHELSEA DONT NEED BECKHAM!!!! ALL WE NEED IS THE PLAYERS' ATTITUDES, CHANGE THAT!! NEW APPROACH MAYBE GOOD ENOUGH!! KEEP ON CHANGING MANAGER IS NONSENSE!! GET TOUGH ON PLAYERS!! HIDDINK OR ANCELOTTI, WE NEED IMPROVEMENT, DONT CREATE A 'HOPE', DO THE 'JOB'!!!
i'm italian and italian papers says that kaka will go to chelsea with ancelotti not beckham
Come on! Don't lie to us! If Beckham wanna come back to BPL, he'll come back to Manchester United.. and yes, Man U will not accept him and his underwear modeling.. he also said that the reason he went to Real is because he don't want to face Man U.. now, he's coming back to BPL? HAHAHAHAHAHA...
all this reporters are just make faking stories to earn their living...everybody knows that...
Since Ancelotti has stated that he is not leaving Milan today, how can he announce his departure tomorow?
Mark Hughes couldn't manage a fruit'n'veg stall.
The only reason Beckham could be good for Chelsea is because Joe Cole seems to be unable to stay fit and Malouda and Kalou are rubbish.
it is rubbish idea to bring beckham to chelsea. his too old and has no gas for premier league. why not bring young and talented player to chelsea. do you think beckham would give extra power to chelsea?? what a rubbish idea
the only reason chelsea want beckham is for the the news coverage it will get them and put them in the world news dont matter if he plays he makes the fans look and the asian market love him its a public relations move and as for all theses other players get real till they sign
chealsea have got to much attacking players as it is so why bother buying becks.
i hope chelsa do sign him just the sort of player chelsa need lol 34 past it and would be on massive wages oh well must have been peter kenyons idea man utd for the league again i think
