Celtic surrendered their Clydesdale Bank Premier League title to Old Firm rivals Rangers after drawing 0-0 against Hearts at Parkhead.
The Ibrox side's win over Dundee United at Tannadice ultimately rendered the Hoops' last game of the season meaningless.
However, the Parkhead side could not finish the campaign in style as striker Scott McDonald missed the best chance of the game in the first half with Aiden McGeady and Shunsuke Nakamura drawing good saves from Jambos keeper Marian Kello.
Striker Scott McDonald missed the best chance in the first half when he blasted wide from close range with Aiden McGeady and Shunsuke Nakamura drawing good saves from Jambos keeper Marian Kello.
With less than four minutes played the first opportunity of the afternoon arose for the home side when Hearts skipper Robbie Neilson fouled Shunsuke Nakamura 20 yards from goal.
However, the Japan international drew a decent save but no more from Kello with his free-kick which tried to sneak in at the near post.
Then, in the seventh minute, McDonald was sent free down the right channel by Andreas Hinkel but the Celtic striker's right-footed volley from just inside the box lacked the conviction to beat Kello.
Celtic continued to press and they missed a great chance in the 21st minute when Kello spilled Scott Brown's drive from the edge of the box with McDonald firing high over the bar from eight yards out.
In the 28th minute McGeady came alive for the first time in the game when he fired in a drive from the edge of the box which Kello tipped onto the post and behind for a corner.
As the Hearts fans taunted their Celtic counterparts, McGeady slipped the ball the wrong side of the post from 10 yards after being set up by Darren O'Dea. In the 72nd minute, as Celtic Park emptied further, Kello had another good save from Brown, before Shaun Maloney headed a McGeady cross wide of the far post.

Marty ya fu, cke.n bun, its the SPL not the SFA u should venting your pent up anger at lol, the SFA are the ones that give us our 2nd trophy at Hampden next week while u lot are at Liddles doing your shopping with the wife and 17 kids:)
Football can be a pretty unpredictable game at times, but one thing will always be certain: the league table never lies. Over the course of 38 games I firmly believe the best team is that which accrues the most points and ends the season on top of the pile. To suggest otherwise is crazy.
Well done Hearts. HAHAHA
great perfotmance from dundee today..........................wink wink....
try again huns....next season,,,
So in reality ........celtic are champs/////
celtic..loved world over..................scumgers.....detested.....
oink oink.......................we are the peoples champs.get it up ya,mingers!
LMAO.....................the dogs in the street know celtic are the champs.......sfa you are a disgrace!
I'm a Gers fan, but if i was a Celts fan i would be gutted right now.. reason being they had the chance this past transfer window to really bury us out of sight but that smug @#$% Lawwell, who incidentally only seems to show his face in the press when the balance sheet comes out, gives wee Ginge wally's to spend when they could easily have spent a few mil and made a statement..I sense a big swing in momentum now and Celts moneymen only have themselves to blame.
it was a major mistake bringing that little ginger fu*ck to paradise.
"oh, but he won yous 3 leagues...." - Martin oneil left him with a sh*it hot team half way through - so we couldnt lose. then le gwen appeared and destroyed rangers the next season, that helped us a lot with the sh*it strachan had brought in. last season both teams were @#$%!!!!!
I love Celtic and will not be going back until that night walking fu*ck has gone!!!
Hail Hail
we dont care if we win lose or draw!!!! - but these skanky huns will still knock their wives/partners about because it wasnt four goals!!!
hail hail
usual pish at end of season . one team enjoy . others shut up and prepare for next years battle.ps wp rangers . celtic lost it so game on next year .. a fair and decent tim
Gordon Strachan must go and so must half the board!!! I actually dont feel anything for losing the title--usually i would be scunnered. But this season the ginger haired @#$%e and his board have just made me lose interest in th club I love. No heart in the team--McManus is a big poof of a man and never Celtic class let alone Captain,,poor poor midfield and strikeforce. We have to do the rebuilding now and i fear there is too much to be done.So well done rangers!!!!
to the @#$% that calls himself BJK!!! - change your name or I/we will find out where you live and burn your house down with you and your family in it!!!
TO ALL THE F*CKING SKANKY HUN BAST*ARDS WHO KEEP SAYING BIG JOCK KNEW - He knew fu*ck all!!!
what about yer richard Gough WHO got hounded out of scotland and settled out of court for kiddy fiddling!!!! - that was well documented in the press etc etc!!! - short memory you bunch of ugly, inbred stinking lets have another ibrox disaster this time bomb a full house and get rid of that p*ishy smell that lingers around scotland because of them!!!
Rangers did deserve the league - strachan fuc*ked us over with his poor tactics, poor under-achieving strikers etc - at least we can get rid of him now and give Lennon the reigns!!! - Strachan does not now how to play the celtic way!!!! -
we shall be back!!!!
Hail Hail
number 11, come on...who are you...walter n david are to busy at the mo tae bar you from greyskull and the police are too busy cleaning up your knuckledraggers mess tae keep a cell for you....so who are you...whats your true identity...go on...i wont tell....SCUM
pi$$ taking and banter aside-its been a hard season with ups and downs for all teams- good to see the decent celtic fans coming on and congratulating rangers as the champions- shame on the others who can't show the same .
scottish football this year has been hard to watch but the fact that gordon strachan kept saying he could not ask any more of his players is a joke we work hard to pay and come and watch a team that is or has been the best in scotland for the last three years yet this year in a league that everyone struggled in celtic could not break away instead they wasted points and sticking with strickers that could not hit a barn door with a stick so please gordon stop talking rubbish and instead taking the true supporters for granted tell your players that you want more and if they are not prepared to give it get them out .BY THE WAY WELL DONE RANGERS WINING THE TITLE IN A YEAR LIKE THIS MUST MAKE YOU ALL SO PROUD .
YOU LOSE SCUMMERS-GET IT RIGHT UP YE
