Northampton chairman David Cardoza insists there is no chance manager Stuart Gray will be lured away to manage neighbours MK Dons.Paul Ince's departure to Blackburn Rovers at the weekend has left a vacancy at stadium:mk and after an impressive season Gray has come into the reckoning.
But Cardoza told the Chronicle & Echo: "I can't envisage that happening at all. I haven't spoken to Stuart because he's on holiday at the moment but I am sure he would see it as a sideways step at best.
"I'm sure he wouldn't consider it. If Stuart was to leave us it would be either for a Coca-Cola Championship club or a club in the Premier League. Ideally he'd be managing us in the Championship, of course.
"He's just signed a new deal and I don't think he would be looking to leave."
