British and Irish Lions lock Nathan Hines faces a disciplinary hearing on Thursday after being cited for alleged foul play.
The Australia-born Scotland international (pictured) has been cited for an alleged dangerous tackle during the Lions' 13-13 draw against the Emerging Springboks in Cape Town.
The incident went unpunished by referee Alain Rolland but the match citing commissioner has now made a complaint.
Under the Lions' tour agreement in South Africa, the citing commissioner has a 12-hour window to report any incidents or foul play.
Hines is the first Lions player to face possible disciplinary action, with the 10-match tour having just two games remaining.
Hines is an outside candidate to make the Lions' match-day 22 against the Springboks in Saturday's second Test in Pretoria.
Hines is alleged to have dangerously tackled his opposite number Wilhelm Steenkamp and dropped him to the ground.
Hines will now appear before Canadian judicial officer Alan Hudson at the Western Province Rugby Union offices in Cape Town on Thursday morning.
If found guilty, Hines could receive a ban long enough to mean he will play no further part on tour.

You guys are always complaining about the referee's. Grow up. Just shows how much you actually know about the game. The Lions have by far been the dirtier side on this tour. Stop making excuses for everything and just realise that there is no way you guys will win any of the remaining games. The Mighty BOKS are a team that you cant match physically or mentally for that matter.
he's not scottish he's an aussie, and that,s one too many Shaw should be 1st choice second row for 60mins with DoC drop O'Conner then the pack will go forward not back like last week
Sergio, tut-tut!
hahahahahaha.. almost got your had your @#$%'s handed to you by a bunch of kids! just shows the Authourity of the Southern Hemisphere and South Africa's young powerfull talent... Cant wait for the next test!! Bring on the Lions!
I am gutted. Usually in a game, a 'bad tackle' stands out a mile, such as the one on BOD mentioned above. New laws do suggest that any 'illegal' tackle is a yellow card or citeable offence. Being a Scot, Hines was the last great hope of an outside chance of a bench place in a test match. Why didn't Blair get on at all last night? Oh, well...
I think that it is very nice of the IRB to supply colour blind officials for the Lions Tour. The main colours they have difficulty in seeing seems to be green and/or yellow whilst red seems to be noticed more easily.
was not a bad tackle nothing like a spear tackle (tana omaga on bod), and as far as i could tell he had hold of him all the way down and no harm was done!! load of rubbish.
I didnt see the (alleged) offence, also, more importantly, Allain Rolland did not either, and he is pretty good.
Just a bit of controvesy to unsettle the Lions even more.
