MK Dons defender Danny Swailes has signed a new contract with the League One club.

The 30-year-old, whose current deal was set to expire at the end of the month, has agreed terms on a six-month contract with a view to remaining at stadium:mk until the end of the season.

After an impressive first season with the Dons in 2007/08, when he made 49 appearances in helping the club win promotion from League Two, an Achilles injury limited Swailes to just two appearances last season.

He told the club website: "I can't wait to get back. I have waited a long time to play a game of football and hopefully that will be at the start of the season."
