Plymouth Argyle manager Paul Sturrock believes his side will return from their pre-season tour of Austria a stronger team. The squad face Romanian side Petrolul Ploesti on Friday in their second game and return to England in the following days.

And Sturrock is particularly pleased with the increasing fitness gains and tactical developments of his squad.

"We came with the idea of having a look at a system," he told the club's official website.

"We have developed that system. We now want to put it into practice when we go back just to see how we do with it.

"The boys are looking far sharper than when we first turned up, there is an edge to them now, they are looking quite strong and their fitness levels are high, so they are all pluses for the trip."
