Barnsley's summer signing Hugo Colace is a major doubt for the start of the season after sustaining a hamstring injury in training.The Argentinian midfielder, snapped up on a free transfer after being released from Newell's Old Boys, strained his hamstring in training and faces a race to recover in time for the opening-day clash at QPR on August 9.
Colace, a former team-mate of Carlos Tevez in the Argentina Under-21s side, could be sidelined for up to three weeks.
Spanish midfielder Diego Leon is expected to miss out in the friendly against Rotherham on Saturday due to a bruised shoulder sustained in the draw at York.
But goalkeeper Luke Steele is hoping to return to action against Rotherham at the Don Valley Stadium after recently struggling with neck and back injuries.
