Swansea skipper Gary Monk insists the club will relish their underdogs tag in the Championship this season.The Swans are gearing up for their debut season back in English football's second tier after a 24-year absence but Monk is confident his side will be ready to defy their critics.

"I think we'll be branded the underdogs for most of the games next season," Monk told Swansea's official website.

"But that's the way we like it, because we'll use it to our advantage. It will be enough motivation in itself for us to go out there and prove people wrong."

"I can guarantee you that no team will have an easy ride against us.

"I can also guarantee you that we'll have enough skill and ability in the side to be right up there."
