Hull's attempts to lure Borussia Dortmund forward Delron Buckley to England have stuttered after his current employers rejected their initial bid.
The 30-year-old South Africa international impressed while on trail with the Premier League newcomers recently but Dortmund's director of sport Michael Zorc was unimpressed by the Tigers' valuation of the winger.
Zorc said: "It is not really what we are expecting."
Buckley, whose career has stalled since joining Dortmund from Arminia Bielefeld in 2005, set up the opening goal in his side's 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich on Wednesday and appears to be in the plans of new Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp.
