Tevez: Ron Should Be Given Real Deal

Thu 24 Jul, 07:09 AM

Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez has broken ranks by claiming Cristiano Ronaldo should be allowed to join Real Madrid if he wishes.

Ronaldo has been the transfer story of the summer, with the Portugal winger expressing his desire to play for Real, who in turn have made him their number one target.

United have been furious with Real's public pursuit of the player, once again reiterating this week that they have no intention of selling their prize asset.

But Old Trafford team-mate Tevez has risked incurring the wrath of Sir Alex Ferguson by claiming the European champions should not stand in Ronaldo's way if he wants to leave.

"The [United] team has great players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, of course," Tevez told AS.

"It's clear that he is a very important player for us, but this is a personal decision, which is up to only him.

"I understand Cristiano. Every footballer wants to play at Real Madrid. On the other hand, I also think that everyone wants to play for Manchester United, but if what he seeks is something else, I think that should be respected.

"I have not talked to him, but when these things happen, neither side feels good."

  1. I think tevez is right in what he is saying ,if the player wants to go ,take the money and let him go,as i dont think their mind would be in the right place if they were to stay, you just have to look at the Barry thing with Aston Villa ,with all he has said i think they should just let him go as well.Ronald is a good player but good players have come and gone ,and utd will manage with or without him,its anoyed me that he hasnt came out and said what he is doing and i think sie Alex is right in saying that he would be better off staying where he is.

  2. Ronaldo says he will not commit himself to man u
surely if he is under contract he must see out that contract
stick him in the reserves for the remainder and let him rot,
sir alex can always find a replacement, with his knowledge and respect he commands in the football world, world class players will sign.

  3. Tevez is a good player. He plays good. I think that Man.Utd. has some loyalty problems with Tevez and Ron. These two should get a beating to wake up already. They are in the best club ever, getting paid top 2% of all players, and their benefits and fame still not enough? Tevez -- Boca Juniors is a past and maybe a future. But should focus on Present. Ronaldo -- f'n actor should stop being a diva and respect the club that made him famous. Once out of this club, he'll be nothing!!

  5. Tavez is the man. true true! At least we have some civilized people in that team. One wonders why Alex Ferguson is waiting for players like Tavez to put some sense in him. Surely Alex wouldn't want a disgruntled player playing for him. This really is simple common sense.
