Championship - Fonte joins Palace permanently

Crystal Palace have made defender Jose Fonte's loan deal at the club permanent.

The 24-year-old has signed a three-year contract and joined manager Neil Warnock's side for an undisclosed fee.

The Portuguese centre-back joined Palace from Benfica last summer and went on to play 26 matches and score once for the Eagles as they surged up the table and reached the play-off semi-finals.

Fonte's younger brother Rui also plies his trade in London, the young striker being on the books at Arsenal.

Palace have also signed striker Simon Thomas from Ryman Premier League club Borehamwood.

Thomas, who scored 33 goals in 71 games for the Hertfordshire club, has signed a two-year deal.

  2. correct!.. tbh i dont think i could name a palace player.. n 33 goals out of 71 isnt good at all in them leagues.. any decent striker would be at least averaging a goal a game in them leagues.
