Shakhtar Donetsk have signed Brazilian Under-20 midfielder Willian from Corinthians in a deal worth £9.5 million.

The 19-year-old arrives in Ukraine on a five-year contract after having made 15 appearances for the Sao Paulo club last season.

Willian joins a galaxy of stars in Donetsk after the Ukrainian champions conducted a £40 million shopping spree this summer.

Italy striker Cristiano Lucarelli, Brazilian defender Ilsinho and Mexico attacking midfielder Neri Castillo have already made the move to Donetsk, although Anatoliy Tymoschuk, Matuzalem, Ciprian Marica, Julius Aghahowa and Elano have all left the club.

Willian will go straight into the squad to face FC Salzburg on Wednesday in the second leg of Shakhtar's Champions League third qualifying round tie, which they trail 1-0.
