Great Britain will face Finland, Romania and Bosnia Herzegovina in their European qualification group for the 2011 Men's World Handball Championship.
The draw split 23 teams across seven groups, with Britain unfortunate to be placed in one of just two groups comprising of four teams.
The groups will be contested in the form of a round-robin tournament played between January 11-17. In Britain's case, their matches will be played in Finland over those dates.
The England Handball Association will host a meeting to discuss the sustainability of the sport.
The meeting will be held in Wolverhampton on September 5 to plan strategy for English teams over the next four years.
Mick Hegarty, EHA director of performance, said: "For the first time, the EHA will have a budget for the whole period and, although small, we will be able to make sustainable plans.
"There is an exciting period ahead for England teams and we will need coaches, managers and administrators on many levels.
"Our objective is to have a full complement of EHF Competition Age teams by 2013. This means under-17 to senior women and under-18 to senior men.
"In addition we want to produce as many home grown, top class players as possible for selection to Great Britain."
