All the team news for Wednesday's Premier League games, with Liverpool and Manchester United facing defensive injury crises.
Premier League team news (kick-offs 19:45 unless stated)
Burnley v Manchester United
The Clarets are without captain Steven Caldwell, who has not recovered from a groin injury, while Michael Duff is also out. Andre Bikey, recently signed from Reading, is eligible to make his debut at centre-back, while David Edgar could also debut after serving a suspension picked up when at Newcastle.
United are missing a host of defenders, with Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Jonny Evans, Gary Neville and Rafael all set to miss the game. That could mean a return for Wes Brown, who should partner John O'Shea in the centre of defence. Michael Carrick should make his first appearance of the season, while Anderson and Ryan Giggs are also pushing to start after missing out on Sunday.
Hull City v Tottenham
Hull have been rocked by the news that captain Ian Ashbee could miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. Dean Marney is also out after picking up an injury against Chelsea on Saturday. Geovanni and Nick Barmby are the most likely contenders to replace the attacking midfielder.
Ledley King's fragile knees prevent him playing more than once per week, so he will drop out, with Vedran Corluka shifting to centre-back and Kyle Naughton likely to make his first start at right-back. Spurs will be otherwise unchanged unless Harry Redknapp chooses to shuffle his forward line to accommodate Peter Crouch.
Birmingham v Portsmouth
Christian Benitez should start after his promising cameo at Manchester United on Sunday; he could replace Cameron Jerome up front unless Alex McLeish opts to play two strikers. Lee Bowyer is still suspended while Giovanny Espinoza is expected to miss out injured.
Pompey have still not received international clearance for Belgian full-back Anthony Vanden Borre and could line up unchanged. Steve Finnan and Hermann Hreidarsson are still out injured.
Liverpool v Stoke City (20:00)
Martin Skrtel's cracked jaw could mean a start for little-known Spanish defender Daniel Sanchez Ayala (pictured), with Daniel Agger still struggling with a back injury. Skrtel trained on Tuesday but is unlikely to be risked. Emiliano Insua continues at left-back. In midfield, Yossi Benayoun may replace Ryan Babel, who was ineffective against Tottenham.
Dave Kitson, Glenn Whelan, Danny Pugh and Carl Dickinson are all available for Stoke after injury, but Tony Pulis may stick with the side that beat Burnley on Saturday. Rafa Benitez will keep a particularly close eye on Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross, who has been linked with a £6m move to Anfield.

joh g: As much chance as Owen joining United or Kevin Phillips playing for every Midlands team imaginable... Never say never.
stuart i bet your a manc arnt ya ...ya gobshite
well said trouble....lol
Everyone wants to leave liverpool at the moment...and who can blame them?..crumbling stadium, fat waiter whinging about everything, a second rate team and bickering yank owners....last person to leave turn the light off..but as its anfield they probably nicking the electricity anyway...
stoke wont be attacking they will be looking to sit back and counter attack at anfield so all we need is put our fastest remaining CB partenring carragher organising the offisde trap. i personally think kelly is a better player than ayala and its more useful to give english players the experiance as home grown players become more important every season. Shawcross would be a great addition if we can afford him, but im not sure the already miserbale agger would appreciate a new young CB. Benayoun is our 3rd most creative player so he should definitely start today with babel coming on for him after 60 to what is hopefully already a lead to exploit the tired defenders with his pace. I think Lucas is genuinely improving but hes still not ready this season, so it may be better to play gerrard deeper with babel on the left and benayoun taking gerrards role untill aquilani and riera are fit and liverpool are back to full stregth.
