Ian Poulter's boyhood heroes included Severiano Ballesteros, Nick Faldo and Payne Stewart, but it wasn't just their herculean efforts on the golf course that captured his imagination.
"I grew up watching those guys and they always looked good," he said.
"They were the inspiration to create my own clothing brand, Ian Poulter Design. I've got big ideas for it, just as I have for my game."
The 32-year-old Englishman is renowned for his striking on-course attire, so it was no surprise when he launched his own line in 2007.
Those who consider his brightly-coloured threads a touch garish for golf might be surprised to learn the business has been a rip-roaring success.
Lines have sold out in record time and demand is at an all-time high - with Poulter's profile buffeted by a runners-up finish at The Open and selection as one of Faldo's wildcard picks for the Ryder Cup.
The Peacock was Europe's best player in Valhalla, winning four of his five matches and hushing the doubters who questioned his credentials on the big stage.
Sadly he was forced to wear the team's clothing all week, which will have disappointed US star Boo Weekley immensely.
"I'd rather be dead than wear Poults clothes," said Weekley in an exlusive interview with Eurosport-Yahoo!. "The only way you'd see me in that gear is in a casket."
And so, without further ado, we give you Ian Poulter Design's Autumn and Winter Range 2008.
It's not for us to judge, but we at Eurosport-Yahoo! rather like it. If only we were good enough to get away with wearing it.

Poulter is a fine player, make no mistake. But, he has one big failing, he can't stop talking about himself and it just gets up peoples' noses. He is a boring bloke.
When Faldo was at his peak he went about his job without fuss, he rarely enthused about himself and to his credit I never once heard him slag any other pro off, unlike the pathetic comments that have been made about him recently.
OK, he was single minded and aloof but could he play golf, and beat the rest of the world?
Poulter needs to take a leaf out of Faldo's book, remember that there will be times when his form is poor, and then he might endear himself to the public. Right now the talk is that he is a good player but a prat. He also needs to recognise that his retro styles appease only one person - him.
Yeah guess it is kinda cool to be able to dress like a pimp and not be out of place. Guess you have to have the game to back it up though. Poults get out there and win a major for us!
