Manchester United fans are plotting a revenge mission on the terraces against bitter rivals Liverpool ahead of Sunday's big match at Anfield.
The Daily Mirror reports that United fans are planning to smuggle in thousands of Eric Cantona masks in to the stadium in a bid to get their own back after a jibe was aimed in their direction 15 years ago.
During the 3-3 draw in 1994, Liverpool supporters unfurled a banner which read 'Au revoir Cantona and Man United come back when you've won 18', a reference to the number of titles the Merseyside club had won.
But with United now having bagged the requisite 18 and drawn level with Liverpool as the most successful club in terms of domestic titles, United fans are keen to rub it in the noses of their rivals, and Cantona is set to return to Anfield.
In what could be reminiscent of the final scene in Ken Loach's excellent film Looking For Eric, an army of Cantonas are set to descend on Anfield. We can only hope they refrain from smashing anything up, as they do in the film.
To make matters worse for Liverpool fans, their United counterparts are intent on bringing some of those infamous red beach balls into the stadium in another attempt to mock Liverpool's current plight.
The Mirror goes on to say that Anfield officials are keen to prevent that happening though, and inflatables have been banned to "minimise delays to the game". And no doubt save some face.
Liverpool fans cannot be pleased to hear news that Steven Gerrard has emerged as Real Madrid's top target for next summer.
The Sun reports that Florentino Perez will launch an audacious £30 million bid for the Reds skipper and as we all know, Real always get their man.
United, meanwhile, are keen for Norwegian wonderkid Magus Eikrem to sign a longer-term deal with the club after the 19-year-old midfielder impressed since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer persuaded him to go to Old Trafford (The Sun).
Down to London, where Chelsea are set to splash £60m in the January transfer market, should FIFA decide to suspend their transfer ban (Daily Express).
The Blues have requested a suspension while their appeal to CAS is heard and if they are successful, Carlo Ancelotti is set to make moves for Benfica winger Angel Di Maria, David Villa of Valencia, Inter's Patrick Vieira or Aston Villa's wantaway striker Emile Heskey.
In other news, Tottenham are battling it out with Jose Mourinho's Internazionale to sign 18-year-old Ghanaian Gladson Awako, who currently plays for Heart of Lions (Daily Mirror).
And finally, Leeds have slapped a £3 million price tag on striker Jermaine Beckford, with QPR, Newcastle and Benfica all interested in his signature (Daily Mirror).

gerrard ain't worth 30 mil he's out for more and more of every season, and his form has dipped considerably in the last two years ! he's doing too much to carry a bunch of average players every week ! he should have gone to chelsea when he had the chance ! god knows why he pulled out at the last minute !
60 million for Gerrard my A R S E if he was that good you wouldnt be eighth in the EPL
no 3 they haven't done anything that anyother club hasn't done. they are being used as a scapegoat again ! if they get prosecuted over this then every top flight club will better look out because there are investigations into the the same thing going on all over europe as we speak ! lets see if fifa and uefa have got a backbone and take on the might of real madrid ,barcalona inter, and ac milan ,man u ,bayer munich etc etc I doubt it very much !

its not a case of living in the past this time, its replying to a challenge, they won 18 they came back, just a reminder lol, and what i see its all in fun, its only one thing thats been brought up from the past, not everything from the past like some teams, hope its a great game and may the best team (on the day ) win
and they say Liverpool fans live in the past
Real Madrid want Gerrard, Barcelona want Mascherano, when these two leave, which they will, Torres and Reina will follow. Liverpool's lack of strength in depth will be evident. Out of the Champions League for the next two seasons already, the lure of the world’s top players going to Anfield will quickly diminish, especially as there is little money available anyway. When this happens Liverpool will struggle to maintain a place at the top table with the resurgence of Man City, Spurs and the Villa all looking to take that fourth Champions League place. These are dangerous days for Liverpool, this season is make or break, the match against Man United on Sunday will be the decisive moment in Liverpool’s season. You just know Owen will score, probably late on with United already one up and Liverpool chasing the game, little Michael Owen will settle it. Carry On Screaming! Yak! yak! yak!
