Classy Cobblers cruise to win
Morecambe suffered their first home defeat of the season as Northampton ran out 4-2 winners.
The Cobblers took a third-minute lead through Steve Guinan, who curled a long-range effort past Ben Smith.
But the home side dominated the rest of the first half and led at the break through a Phil Jevons penalty and Stewart Drummond's header.
Northampton were much the better side in the second half, however, and after being denied by two excellent Ben Smith saves they secured the three points with three goals in the final 20 minutes.
Andy Holt levelled with a close-range volley from Ben Marshall's cross and the Cobblers went on to take the spoils with strikes from John Johnson and Ade Akinfenwah.
