De Vita stars in Livi win

Livingston easily ended Queen's Park's chances in this season's competition with a comfortable 3-1 victory at the National Stadium.

Trialist striker Robbie Winters fired inches over from the edge of the box before setting up the opener when he picked out Raffaele De Vita with a perfect cross and the Italian fired a volley behind Scott Black in the 32nd minute.

The second goal came just after the hour mark when referee Steven McLean judged Ross Dunlop had handled the ball. It looked a harsh decision as the full-back could not get out of the way of Keaghan Jacob's pass and he appeared to be struck in the chest in any case.

Liam Fox was unperturbed by home protests and slotted home the spot-kick with ease.

Substitute Tony Quinn gave the Spiders hope after 78 minutes when he knocked in a cross from Chris Hamilton from close range but it was quickly extinguished as De Vita swept home a Jacobs cross that had been dummied by Winters five minutes later.
