Aiston relishing Little reunion

Wrexham's new loan signing Sam Aiston has revealed he shunned Cambridge United in order to join forces with Brian Little once again.Aiston joined the struggling Dragons on an initial one-month loan from League One side Northampton on loan deadline day but the 31-year-old says Little was the key influence in his decision to move to the Racecourse Ground.

Little managed Aiston during his brief time at Tranmere during the 2005/2006 season and the much-travelled midfielder believes the former Aston Villa manager is the right man to turn around the club's flagging fortunes.

"Now was a good time to think of looking elsewhere - there was the opportunity to go to Cambridge United, who are challenging for promotion back to the league, but when I got the call from Brian Little it just seemed the right move for me," Aiston told the club's official website.

"I know the gaffer well from our time together at Tranmere and there was no hesitation on my part about coming to Wrexham.

"At the moment the league table does not make good reading, but you only have to look at the names in the squad already here to see there is quality and I'm sure we can turn things around."
