Knight wait set to continue

Fri 25 Jan, 01:17 PM

Wycombe's Leon Knight is set to again miss out on a starting role as boss Paul Lambert sticks with an unchanged side to face Chesterfield.Knight - who left League Two leaders MK Dons for Adams Park earlier this month after losing his first-team berth - has yet to start for Lambert and is without a goal since October.

But with Scott McGleish hitting eight goals in the last eight games and John Sutton playing the targetman role, Knight looks set for an extended period on the bench.

Goalkeeper Jamie Young could be named in the squad for the first time since ripping his hamstring muscle away from the bone in September. Rab Douglas has returned to Leicester after the expiry of his latest loan so Young could be set for a place on the bench, with on-loan Blackburn teenager Frank Fielding keeping his place.

Fellow goalkeeper Scott Shearer (ankle) is also a long-term casualty but is not expected to feature again this season.

Defenders Will Antwi (groin) and Mike Williamson (knee and broken arm) remain out as the Chairboys seek a win which will strengthen their growing play-off hopes.
