Plymouth will be without new strikers Steve MacLean and Jamie Mackie when they travel to face Portsmouth in the FA Cup.The pair are cup-tied after playing for former clubs Cardiff and Exeter earlier in the competition.
MacLean, who joined Argyle for a club record £500,000 last week, made his debut in the 1-1 draw with Southampton, partnering scorer Rory Fallon in a new-look front two. Fallon is set to figure again and his likely partner is Wales international Jermaine Easter, with Mackie also ineligible and fellow frontman Nick Chadwick also ruled out.
Manager Paul Sturrock has revealed that former Aberdeen man Chris Clark, another January signing, will make his debut while fellow midfielder Yoann Folly, recently signed from Sheffield Wednesday, is not cup tied and can figure.
Goalkeeper Romain Larrieu will be included in the squad despite discovering a small growth in his abdomen which will eventually need treatment which will rule him out for two months.
Argyle's Dutch central defender Marcel Seip (groin) is struggling to be fit, so French defender Mat Doumbe is on stand-by.
