Juventus went top of Serie A on goal difference after claiming a narrow 1-0 win over Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico.
Claudio Marchisio scored the game's only goal on 21 minutes, finishing from a tight angle after collecting a superb through-ball from Alessandro Del Piero.
Both sides had numerous goalscoring chances in an open entertaining game but found goalkeepers Gianluigi Buffon and Sebastien Frey in supreme form.
Juve keeper Buffon's highlight was a brilliant low save from Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino, while he made several timely interventions to keep Fiorentina at bay.
Frey made an astonishing double save from Marco Marchionni in the first half, then produced further heroics to deny Zdenek Grygera and Sebastian Giovinco.
Juventus move ahead of Internazionale on goal difference after drawing level on 43 points. Inter have a game in hand, and play Sampdoria at home on Sunday.
REGGINA 0-1 CHIEVO
Vincenzo Italiano smashed in from distance in injury time to give Chievo a controversial 1-0 win at fellow strugglers Reggina.
The sides were joint-bottom before kickoff but Reggina now prop up the rest having conceded a goal moments after striker Bernardo Corradi had a second strong penalty appeal turned down when he was again manhandled by Chievo's Davide Mandelli.
Reggina also lost Carlos Carmona to a straight red card four minutes before the break when the midfielder aggressively thrust the ball into the chest of Chievo's Luca Rigoni.
