Kari Arnason is set to quit Aberdeen at the end of the season.
The Dons have revealed the midfielder, 29, has rejected an improved offer to remain at Pittodrie. However, the club insist they have no plans to sell Arnason - who netted in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Rangers in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League - this month.
An Aberdeen spokesperson said: "We made Kari an exceptionally good offer, however the player believes he can earn a better deal elsewhere and it looks like he'll be moving on at the end of the season."
The spokeperson added: "Reports that the club is willing to sell the Icelandic international in the current transfer window are wide of the mark though as he is crucial to our plans for the remainder of the current campaign, both in terms of climbing up the SPL table and enjoying a fruitful run in the Scottish Cup."

The huns will be in for him. I hope he's got more self respect than to go there.
Sell him now Stewart Milne has already banked a million this season with players out but we need the cash for an empty stadium at Loirston. Aye right
speculate to accumulate?
pay the money he cost nothing
