Leicester are waiting to discover the extent of Paul Gallacher's latest back problem.
Gallacher had to be substituted just before half-time during the 2-0 victory at Southampton on Monday night.
The Scot suffered with the injury earlier this season and boss Nigel Pearson is waiting to see what the damage is this time round.
"Gally is one of our best technical players but, unfortunately, he has picked up an annoying injury. We will just have to see how he is for the long term," said Pearson.
"He has had this injury before. It is his back. He wanted to carry on but unfortunately he couldn't. We are struggling for numbers now."
Gallacher joins fellow midfielders Andy King, Matt Oakley and Frank Moussa in the treatment room, while Michael Johnson is not fit enough for action.
