Hibernian have accepted a two-match ban offered to Leigh Griffiths by the Scottish Football Association.
The striker was issued with a notice of complaint by the SFA`s compliance officer on Tuesday after television footage appeared to show him making a one-fingered gesture during his side's 3-2 defeat to St Johnstone at the weekend.
He has recently had sanctions imposed after being found guilty of making an offensive gesture in an SPL game against Rangers in November, as well as during the William Hill Scottish Cup fourth round tie against Cowdenbeath.
A statement on the club's website read: "Hibernian FC confirmed today it would not be appealing the Notice of Complaint issued by the Scottish FA Compliance Officer against Leigh Griffiths and would accept the two match suspension offered.
"Griffiths will now miss Hibernian's SPL matches against Rangers and Aberdeen and he will also miss the William Hill Scottish Cup tie against Kilmarnock after being suspended for a separate incident in that competition."

time for Hibs to offload the clown, he should not be paid the weeks he is banned, what he did was gross mis-conduct to his own supporters, and i don't wan't to hear the bleating that he was getting abuse, the fans pay good money and if they are mis-behaving then that's up to the police and the stewards, not the players, the guy is a clown, and it seems these days managers back their players no matter what, that's why fans have stopped going in great numbers, they are treated abysmally, time for managers to call a clown a clown.
