McCoist: No offers for Nikica

Wed, 25 Jan 11:35:57 2012

Ally McCoist claims Rangers have still not received any offers for Nikica Jelavic amid mounting speculation linking the striker with a move south of the border.

The Ibrox boss confirmed at the weekend that informal talks between chairman Craig Whyte and his West Ham counterpart David Sullivan had taken place.

The Croatian has also been linked with Liverpool, West Brom, Fulham and QPR but McCoist is adamant that no club has tabled an offer for Jelavic yet.

He told www.rangers.co.uk: "We have absolutely not received any bids for Nikica or indeed any of our players at all. No offers have been put in from any clubs.

"That's where we are at the moment. Sam Allardyce and I have spoken on the phone and had a conversation which will remain private. Craig (Whyte) has also spoken to Mr Sullivan and they have had a discussion too which Craig has told me about.

"But there has certainly not been an offer from West Ham for Nikica and everything we are reading is purely speculation. The same applies to everyone else in the squad."

It might not have occurred to you W, but Rangers pumping inordinate amounts of money that they couldn't afford, into Scottish Football is the sole cause of their own impending demise, and the sorry state of Scottish Football; nothing else! Nobody 'willing' anything will change that!
They've cheated their way through the last quarter of a century, creating the self same uneven playing field that you accuse Sky of, financially doping their team, trying to buy the kind of success that befits Minty's giant ego; they failed miserably, at everything.
Unlike Rangers when they were close to closing the doors, Celtic fans invested heavily in the club on the back of the initial bail-out by Fergus McCann. Rangers fans have sat back and watched their club sicken, weaken, and ultimately lie in it's death bed, and there is now absolutely nothing, short of coming up with about £100 million to bail them out, that they can do about it.
Scottish Football, when the playing surface is level again, without those cheating, conniving ratbags, will improve; of that there is no doubt.
Nobody predicted the demise of either Celtic, or Scottish football when it was trying to farm them off down to Englandshire to ply their trade; not even you with all your insight.

  14. To all those Celtic fans willing the Gers to go bust , then Celtic will soon follow with no rangers in scotland , so stop gloating and remeber back to when a certain mr McCann bailed the Celts out !!! As for gers the story goes from bad to worse , the transer window is a joke and considering they are one of the biggest clubs in the world it is ridiculous . All fo Scottish football is suffering drom being so close to english FA where the Billions being pumped in by Sky make the playing field totally uneven . and create inability even to compete with leage 2 or 3 with a fan base 20 times higher . Once on of the english giants fold as one will do then the playing field will become even , if there is still a Scottish league running . Money is spoiling all , and the includes olymics where they can't even get ticket sales right

Minty turned up at Ibrox to break the bad news in person to Rangers, initial findings about the FTTT will have filtered their way through to Murray via his council.
Sally has had enough of the transfer/war chest farce and is ready to bail. He and TGEF are poles apart and can't stick the sight of each other. They barely talk and Sally is left out of all of the decision making processes. When Sally walks, Rangers will fold in a matter of days, nobody will touch the job, either now or newco Rangers with a barge pole. Minty has told Whispering Sally to run, and don't look back, Rangers are a busted flush and Minty wants them to die during Whyte's watch instead of waiting so that TGEF can point fingers at HMRC having killed Rangers off.
Minty has set TGEF up as a patsy!
