Barnsley have completed the loan signing of Norwich midfielder Korey Smith, subject to Football League approval.
The 20-year-old will stay at Oakwell for an initial month and is expected to go straight into Keith Hill's squad for next Tuesday's home clash with Derby.
Smith played a key role in Norwich's npower League One title-winning season in 2009/10 and made 30 appearances for them last season in the Championship, but following the club's promotion to the Barclays Premier League he has featured only once, against MK Dons in the Carling Cup.
Smith, whose loan deal will expire after Barnsley's league game at Coventry on February 25, is the second midfielder to join the Tykes this week following Tuesday's arrival of Michael Tonge on loan from Stoke until the end of the season.

Why didn't we bid for Billy Sharpe .......sorry I simply forgot .... As usual we don't have any money to spend and never will have to entice players here and who want to play in the Prem.
did he play agsinst barnsley at carrow road on your push to prem,i was at that game and you played really well coming back from a goal down. lambert has done a brilliant job,its bout time promoted teams did well and you have proved your a good team on a limited budget, just hope keith hill does a job like that for barnsley.
The Championship is an excellent training ground for potentially excellent stars of the future. Keith Hill will try to build this potential in him while at Oakwell.
Thanks Canaries for your comments. I hope he can commit himself to the TYKES as well.
if norwich had not been promoted to premier league he would of remained a regular 1st team player in the championship..he will create and score the odd goal for you.. from a NCFC fan.. ps norwich i doubt will sell him as he is a prospect for the future
