Sheridan hoping to bring in striker

Mon 25 Feb, 03:45 PM

Oldham manager John Sheridan is hoping to bring in a striker on loan ahead of the visit of League One rivals Swindon on Tuesday night.Leading scorer Craig Davies, who has notched 14 goals so far this season, sustained a hamstring injury which forced him out of Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Brighton.

He had to limp out of the action after just 27 minutes and is set to join fellow frontman Lee Hughes for a spell on the sidelines.

Former West Brom and Coventry striker Hughes looks certain to remain absent due to a groin strain which has kept him out of the past five games.

Midfielder JP Kalala (ankle and knee) and defender John Thompson (knee) look set to miss out again along with skipper Sean Gregan and striker Andy Liddell, who are both recovering from Achilles injuries.
