Grimsby midfielder Ciaran Toner is a major injury doubt for the Mariners' Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash at Morecambe on Tuesday evening.Toner was kicked on the ankle in the goalless draw at Wrexham and could miss the first leg of the Northern Area Final.

Toner had only just returned from a hamstring strain which had kept him out for six matches before he returned to the bench for the recent home defeat to Dagenham & Redbridge.

Paul Bolland, who replaced Toner on Saturday, is expected to partner Danny Boshell in midfield, the latter confident of shaking off a thigh strain.

Fellow midfielder James Hunt is also expected to recover in time from a bruised thigh.

Otherwise, manager Alan Buckley has no other new injury or suspension problems as his side bid to secure a day out at Wembley.
